We certainly don't disagree with you that a large fandom with both chromatic creators and characters deserves to be celebrated! But one of the goals for Kaleidoscope was to highlight fandoms that are not so well-known in our fannish circles and hopefully introduce people to new ones--this is the reason why we plan to have a fairly lengthy and active pre-nominations period to promote qualifying fandoms.

We do provide other opportunities to celebrate large chromatic fandoms through other challenges we organize throughout the year and plan to keep on doing so outside of this particular exchange.
