Reminder: Kaleidoscope Nominations

Hello doers of darkness! This is a friendly reminder that nominations for Kaleidoscope close September 3 at 9:00 PM Pacific Time. You have less than six days left to finalize your decisions, so choose wisely! Once again, our nomination form can be found here, you can check the current nominations list here, and we've posted a sample nomination submission here. You can also check out our Masterlist of Kaleidoscope Fandom Promotion Posts if you're looking for ideas.

In addition, we've updated our promotional graphics & templates post with several new banners by softestbullet, and we've set up dark-agenda to showcase the amazing graphics we've received. We are also still taking submissions, so you are welcome to send us any graphics you've created!

I have a quick question about character nominations. The nom for My Name is Kim Sam Sun lists only KSS. Will this be like Yuletide, where if we don't make sure to nominate characters we want, they won't be available?

Basically: should I spend one of my precious nom slots to enlarge that entry or trust that it can be taken care of in the clean-up process?

As it says on the nomination form, we will try to include unnominated chromatic characters in the nominated fandoms, but we can't guarantee it. Explicitly nominating a character is the best way to make sure they will be available.

Practically speaking, the likelihood of an unnominated chromatic character making it into sign-ups will depend on several factors, such as whether the character tag already exists in AO3, how easy it is to figure out whether the character is chromatic, whether the mods&volunteers are familiar enough with the fandom to make sure all the chromatic characters are covered, etc.

A question! Reading the comments here I realized belatedly that some characters I nominated for a fandom aren't chromatic; would it be all right to email the mods a list of the ineligible characters for that fandom, so that they can be struck off the list?

You can email us now, if you wish; you can also redo your nominations without the non-chromatic characters (as long as you use the same email address, your old nominations will be completely erased and replaced by the new nominations). Or if you would rather wait, there is a dispute period coming up when you can let us know which characters are not chromatic.
