Kaleidoscope sign-ups open!

Doers of darkness, sign-ups for Kaleidoscope are now open! The sign-ups period will run from September 26 to October 8, 9pm PST. Our handy countdown clock is here.

To use the sign-ups form:

1. First enter your contact information and details in the following fields under Contact Information:
   
   
   
   
   
   AO3 Name: Your main username on AO3.
   Email Address: An email address at which we can contact you about your Kaleidoscope assignment.
   Links: Any links that may be useful to your assigned writer, such as your LiveJournal/Dreamwidth/AO3 account, your Doer of Darkness letter, and links to resources for your requested fandoms, etc. Please keep in mind that access and affordability of particular source materials can vary from region to region and household to household.
   
   You may click on the add button to add more links.


2. Next, under Fandom Requests, select exactly three (3) distinct fandoms that you'd like to request (no more, no less) from the list of nominated fandoms:
   
   
   


3. Then, under Fandom Offers, select at least three (3) or more distinct fandoms that you would like to offer from the list of nominated fandoms:
   
   
   


4. Once done, click Continue and go to the next page to complete your sign-up. Or you may click Reset to reset the form and start all over again.


5. On the next page, for each fandom that you've requested, please specify:
   
   • which fanwork types you would like to receive for that particular fandom request under Fanwork Types
     
   • which characters you would like to see feature in that particular fandom request under Characters
     
   • any other details you would like to note to your participant regarding that particular fandom request under Details
   Though you may leave the Characters and Details fields blank, the former indicating that you are requesting any chromatic characters from that particular fandom request. Please also keep in mind that the Characters and Details sections of your request are optional for your assigned participant to fulfill.
   
   
   


6. For each fandom that you've offered, please specify:
   
   • which fanwork types you would like to offer for that particular fandom request under Fanwork Types
     
   • which characters you would like to to offer that particular fandom request under Characters
   Though you may leave the Characters blank, indicating that you are offering any chromatic characters from that particular fandom request. Please also keep in mind that you are not guaranteed to receive an assignment with the character(s) you've offered, although we will attempt to match character offers as much as possible.
   
   
   


7. Once done, click Submit to complete your sign-up. Or you may click Reset to refill all the details of your fandom requests & offers.
   
   Once you have submitted the form, you should see a confirmation window with your sign-up details as well as receive an e-mail confirmation. Your AO3 name should also appear on the list of Kaleidoscope participants at the bottom of the current sign-ups page. In the event that you do not receive a confirmation email, you can check the list of participants to see whether your sign-up is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation email or see your name on the list, you may have to re-submit your sign-up information.
   
   If afterward, you'd like to change or correct your sign-up, please fill out the sign-up form again. This will delete your previous sign-up and replace it with your new one.
