I'd like to sign up. I actually got really inspired and already wrote the rough draft of a 4250 word fic. It's an AU for Torchwood/Doctor Who, imagining the origin story for a Chinese-American Captain Jack Hark Lee in 1937 Shanghai during the Second Sino-Japanese War aka the War of Resistance Against Japan. Jack and real!Jack are both in it (this will only make sense if you know a bit of the backstory).
I'm Japanese-American, not Chinese-American, and I really, really need a beta/Canto-pick. I did a lot of research but I'm sure I have many errors in the names of characters and so on. If someone reads this here and can do it, that would be awesome, or maybe you could give me suggestions as to where to find someone who'd be interested in doing it. I am hoping for someone who knows some Cantonese and knows a little bit about the time period in question... knowledge of DW/TW would be helpful but not necessary.
