The whole idea of this challenge just fills with me GLEE. I get to write characters who look like me! /geek out

I'd like to jump onto the SPN bandwagon, rewriting most of the cast as South Asian/Desi. Just to check, would it be acceptable to change the names of characters to reflect their revised ethnic/cultural background?
