Hello, doers of darkness! The nominations period has closed, and here's the list of all nominations. We had 59 people nominate ~160 fandoms!

If you see any fandoms or characters on the list that don't meet our eligibility criteria, please use the dispute links to send us information about why the fandom does not qualify:

1. Select the fandom, character or person that you'd like to dispute by clicking on its respective 'DISPUTE' link.
   
   
   


2. The 'DISPUTE' link will lead you to a form where you are ask to select the criterion or criteria in which you believe the fandom, character or person does not qualify and to explain your reasons, with verifiable evidences if applicable.
   
   
   

We also welcome in the comments of this post corrections and input, particularly regarding fandoms, characters and people's untransliterated names.

The dispute period will close on 10 September 2011, 9:00 PM Pacific Time (U.S.A.) (see our countdown clock).

As we're getting closer to a final official list of nominations, we'd like to ask and encourage you to continue to submit promotion posts about your nominated fandoms to our masterlist and let people who share these fandoms know that sign-ups for our exchange will begin very soon!

Will the original nominator have a chance to respond to the dispute?

Yes, in the process of verifying whether the reasons for dispute are valid, we'll check with the original nominator via email.

Is there a reason kanji (Japanese characters) for some fandoms have been removed, leaving only the Romaji (alphabet spellings)?

troisroyaumes can probably better explain this and I'm probably explaining more than your question warrants, but our nominations infrastructure is set up so that all nominations, for technical & logistic purposes, are (manually) consolidated into one official entry (e.g. if one nominator nominated 夏目友人帳 and another nominated Natsume Yuujinchou, we could tie both nomination into one official entry: 夏目友人帳 | Natsume Yuujinchou.)

Because the list of nominations will be used as reference for us when setting up sign-ups on Archive of Our Own (AO3), we had to set up so that each official entry has two separate metatags for names: one for the official name and one for the untransliterated name, one being required and the other optional. The reason being that the official name metatag has to follow AO3's tagging conventions (which don't allow for untransliterated canonical tag) and, as a result, it has the higher priority for us when compiling & inputing information.

Basically, it's not that the kanji for some fandoms have been removed, but that due time constraints, we (us mods & our wonderful volunteers) haven't gotten to finding and entering the kanji for them. Hopefully, we'll have most of that information entered by the time the final official nomination list is released. :)

That... kind of makes sense? I was just wondering why the kanji I posted for 宇宙戦艦YAMATO's characters had disappeared, and whether you wanted it back (given that other fandoms still had character names that were non-alphabet). Or if you needed any help entering Japanese for any fandoms, though that seems to be well under control (^-^)

The untransliterated name option probably must have been added after the fandom's official information has already been entered, but I've added in the kanji you posted, sorry about that!

What is your time frame? I'm going to be busy at work through the 12th (bunkasai, yay), but after that will have some free time. (oh, and thank you!)

Sign-ups start around the 16th (U.S. time) so any optional metatags added to nominations list can be done up until then. Our volunteering system is very commitment-free & do what you can where you're basically signing-up to our mail list, we send periodic e-mails asking for input or help and you're welcome to respond/do at your own time/etc. or not. =)
