I have a Leverage fic, approx 2,800 words, with Nate as African American. The fic is mostly set on a job in Nebraska, but it does touch on Nate's experiences growing up in Boston in the 60s/70s, and Hardison's growing up in the 90s. (Assuming the actor's ages are approximately the character's). Also stop and searches, authority, criminality and 'the race card'.
