Kaleidoscope signups & revised schedule

Hello doers of darkness! First of all, thank you for your fandom and character input so far; we appreciate your help in resolving Kaleidoscope eligibility disputes. Please check out our list of all nominated fandoms and characters (subject to minor changes as we continue processing disputes and double-checking metadata).

Secondly, Kaleidoscope's signups period have not begun as planned but will open instead on September 25th. This is because the AO3 is currently in the process of implementing the shiny new code for tag sets that we'll be relying on for our challenge signups! Our revised schedule is as follows:

Sign-ups: September 25th - October 8th
Assignments period: October 9th - November 12th
Kaleidoscope treats: November 12th - 19th
Reveal period: November 19th - 26th

In the meantime, if you are planning to participate in Kaleidoscope but do not have an AO3 account, you can leave your email in our invite list and we will do our best to make sure you have one in time for sign-ups. We apologize for the delay, and thank you all for your patience! But while you're waiting for sign-ups to open, please check our list of promotion posts where more entries have been coming in!

Hello!

I have a question. I nominated The Count of Monte Cristo, but it's not on the list. I was not contacted regarding an eligibility dispute.

Is this an oversight, or did I miss an email regarding a dispute?

Hi! That's one of the disputes we're currently processing and discussing among the team whether to uphold the dispute (& send the nominator an e-mail about it & further discuss it with the nominator -- you in this case) or qualify it despite the dispute (& add it back to the list of nominations). We'll update you regarding its status when that has been decided (I really apologize for the delay!).

The mechanics of treats

Hi! I realise treats aren't the first priority right now, but I was wondering how they'd work. Do we wait until the doers of darkness links post and work from that? Also, is November 12th - 19th for posting treat requests or finished treats or something else? Sorry if this is obvious!

You can certainly work on treats ahead of time from the Doers of Darkness links post, but we will also be posting a list of all requests on November 12th. Finished treats (as well as pinch hits sent out after the defaulting deadline) will be due by November 19th. Our policies post has some more details. Hope that helps!
