I dithered too long about signing up and then missed the last call when I was at work, but is there any place to sign up as a pinch hitter? One of the reasons I was unsure about signing up is that there were no offers for the fandoms I would request, so maybe pinch hitting (and thus not getting anything in return) would be the way to go.

Sign-ups technically are still open until tomorrow 9 PM. The sign-up form will stop being accessible when the sign-up period closes. But if you decide that you would rather pinch hit, we will indeed be announcing the pinch hit mailing list once assignments go out, and you should be able to subscribe to that.

Oh, how weird. I went to the page earlier and just got a message that signups were closed! I went again now and it's back to normal, though.

Okay, well, I'll continue wibbling tonight, then, and see if I can come up with any requests for other fandoms that do have offers to write. :)

I'm afraid that this is going to sound like a really stupid question, but now that I'm actually looking at the sign-ups and reviewing the rules, I'm confused. Please forgive my muddled brain.

Is each participant required to produce just one work (or one set, in the case of something like icons), or is the requirement for several works? (Purimgifts challenge was for 3 written works + 3 graphics, so multiple works are not unheard-of ... .)

Just one work for one fandom! It just has to be a fanwork type that the recipient requested for that particular fandom. E.g. if a recipient wanted art or fic for fandom 1 and just fic for fandom 2, you could produce one work of art for fandom 1 OR one fic for fandom 1 OR one fic for fandom 2. (We wanted to be clear that you couldn't produce art for fandom 2 if they only requested art for fandom 1. Sorry for the confusing language!)
