Neither of them were involved in developing the initial character concept, unlike the three creators you mention above (Keith Giffen, John Rogers and Cully Hamner [the illustrator for issues 1-10]), but I wasn't sure how tightly you were defining "creator" when it came to comics.

However, after discussions, we as a mod team agreed to consider people who are (co-)credited for a franchise, series and/or character reboot as eligible creators for our challenge as seems to be the case for Blue Beetle in 2011? Blue Beetle version 2011 will then qualify for Kaleidoscope under this policy.

Wow, super minor character. Googling in English got me mainly someone's fanfic, but I did see a summary of one of the actual books saying this is a character's aunt. However, googling in Japanese got me not a single mention of the character, so I can only guess at the canonical name.
All the other characters in the series have names in katakana, since it's a fantasy world, so I believe her name should also be in katakana. As for the family name, it doesn't look like there is anything but assumption to base that on (she's related to two people with the family name of Yonsa, so her name would Yonsa as well), but in the absence of anything else to go on, it's not a bad assumption.
It should be written ユカ・ヨンサ.

I'm pretty sure Dee Laytner is canonically Latino and it's definitely canonical Rai Spencer is Chinese.

ETA: Incidentally, can you confirm whether it's ライ·スペンサー or レイ·スペンサー for Rai Spencer?

It's spelled ライ.
Pumzi!
(Anonymous) 2012-09-07 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)Also, I saw you list Pumzi as an eligible source. The trailer I saw on YouTube was awesome and where did you find a copy of the full film?!
I tried to find out where to buy it, had no luck, and thought that only the people who saw it during Sundance (or know director Wanuri Kahiu and can ask *her*) can watch it now. :/
Where's it available now? :D
