Hello doers of darkness, thank you for your input regarding issues about dispute and fandom eligibility that we have posted at
Dispute deadline reminder and feedback for our rarity policy and
Kaleidoscope Disputes! We understand your concerns about not having enough fandoms to offer and request, your desires to include as many fandoms and participants as possible, and your wishes to increase the numbers of artworks, stories or vids in fandoms with low numbers of one or two fanwork types but not others, and we will revisit the issue when we plan for the next challenge, including gathering new fanwork data and modifying our rarity criteria based on the new data if necessary. However, because Kaleidoscope is a multimedia challenge, we believe it is important to consider rarity across all media and have decided to uphold the rarity criteria for all types of fanworks this year. We thank you for your understanding!
We have re-added
Blue Beetle (Comics) as an eligible fandom with Jaime Reyes (2011) and Paco Tejas (2011) as the qualifying characters for Kaleidoscope under the consideration of a series reboot with Ig Guara at the artistic realm, and we have added
Sengoku BASARA 3 as an eligible fandom under the consideration that it meets our rarity criteria and qualifies for our challenge while
Sengoku BASARA as a top-level franchise do not. We continue to welcome your input on these matters.
( Below is a list of fandoms, characters, and people that are considered ineligible for Kaleidoscope )Our post on
clarifications on tagging conventions and source eligibility provides some more insights on why some fandoms and characters have been considered as ineligible for Kaleidoscope. However, If you believe any of above fandoms and characters have been rejected in error, or if a fandom or character that you've nominated does not appear in the above ineligible list or the
Kaleidoscope 2012 Nominations list (and our
Kaleidoscope 2012 Nominations spreadsheet for reference), please let us know!
Happy belated Hari Merdeka & Independence Day (Trinidad and Tobago)!
